In
the 1960s, Romeo Bruni and wife Maria Cinelli purchased
14 hectares (35 acres) of superb soil in the commune
of Roccalbegna. In 1970, the first 5 hectares (12 acres)
of vineyards were planted, followed in the ’80s by another
5 hectares in what was to become the DOC appellation
of MONTECUCCO, in 1998. The vines of Sangiovese, Merlot,
Malvasia, Chardonnay etc. are located on clayey-schistous
terrain, at an average altitude of 350-380 meters above
sea level. The 1990s are decisive years for the winery:

per acre), in record time. This new terrain, in the
commune of Scansano, is clayey-calcareous, very stony,
and located in a hilly area planted with vines and olive
trees at an average altitude of 200-250 meters above
sea level, about 7 km. from the winery. Total surface
of this family-run estate is 18 hectares (a little over
44 acres), 14 hectares of which under vine, 12 of them
